Moving Tensile Structure

2007 • Posted by Kai @ 2:24 PM

Tensile structure carrying only tension and without compression or bending forces. But most tensile structure are supported by some form of compression or bending frames such as mast, compression rings, and compression beams. Tensile membrane structures are most used as roofs as they can span large distances.

In this moving tensile structure that the frames are based on the moving arms and powered by the movement of whole structure. The gear unit fits in the gear track, which placed by the train track, so when the structure moves the tensile roofs tilt back and forth too.
