Wireless Studio Flash Trigger

2007 • Posted by Kai @ 4:54 PM

Flash is very important for photo taking because photography is most likely controlling or handling the light, especially for indoor pictures. I have 4 flashes but I never really playing with multi-flash technique. I always thinking one or two flashes are good enough for photo shooting, until I realized that multi-flash creates more possibilities and varieties of the scene.

I just placed an order of this 16 Channels Wireless Studio Flash Trigger so I can control 3 or 4 flashes simultaneously. Compare to the most well-known brand “Pocket Wizard”, Gadget Infinity’s product is almost 10-time cheaper. I don’t want to spend too much money on this gadget because I don’t think I will use it that often. I am still prefer to work with natural light.

This is the view looking out the window from my spot, and I like the waterfall wall scene. But too bad our group been moving down to the 1st floor, so no longer has this kind of beautiful view anymore.

Farewell, Jocelyn

2007 • Posted by Kai @ 1:49 PM

She is gone

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she is gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she had want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Jocelyn Chiang, a friend of mine who was an amateur photographer, she passed away at 4:42PM, August 11, 2007 Taipei time. She has been fighting with breast cancer for six years, now she left. We knew each other because both of us love photography, and she was one of few who dare to criticize my pictures.
Farewell Jocelyn, rest in peace.

Coal Harbour

2007 • Posted by Kai @ 9:10 AM

I don’t eat lunch everyday, depends on how hungry I felt. But it is not a good idea always sacrificing my lunch hour to keep working on the design project. Coal Harbour just right behind the office, and I love to take a walk there when I have some free time. Especially there are many tourists around which makes this place more interesting.

Digital Architecture

2007 • Posted by Kai @ 11:17 PM

I always want to do everything good, but sometimes I just have to compromise, for time sake. I love to build a digital architectural model and do a nice rendering because this is a good way to represent my idea. But architectural design is a tricky job because you don’t always have enough time to finish what you want to do. This 3D image was hastily done for a design meeting. I used Form•Z to build the model, and rendered in Cinema 4D, not satisfied anyway.

Creamy & Sweet

2007 • Posted by Kai @ 9:31 PM

Last time doughnuts, this time cupcakes. Today is the August Birthday Treat day, there are hundred of cupcakes in the kitchen when I walk in to office in the morning. The color is attractive and the smell is great, but be honest I don’t really like this kind of over-sweetened food.
